While Santos Escobar occasionally appeared on AAA programming during his time with WWE, the recently resigned Escobar’s absence from traditional WWE programming for several months has left many fans confused as to his current WWE status. Fightful Select attempted to set the record straight with a recent report, but it appears that, while Escobar is still in WWE, he is not expected to return to WWE’s main broadcasts anytime soon.

However, WWE confirmed that Escobar will remain with the company, Fightful reports. In fact, when Escobar’s WWE contract expired in October 2025, he was moved to the alumni section and apparently never returned to their active roster page when he resigned from the company shortly after.

As for Escobar’s occasional appearances in AAA, the former LWO member and Legado Del Fantasma leader is still expected to remain in AAA. Escobar was reportedly ready to leave WWE when his contract expired in 2025, but WWE “did the big thing” and resign the former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Despite this, Escobar continued to serve as a backup on WWE programming, with neither party offering any explanation for his absence.
