Unrivaled sets pro women’s basketball regular-season attendance record

The Invincibles set a new record for the largest regular-season attendance in a professional women’s basketball game.

On Friday, January 30, the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league Unrivaled held a sell-out doubleheader in front of 21,490 fans at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The WNBA’s most-watched regular season game will be played on September 19, 2024 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., between the Washington Mystics and the Indiana Fever. According to Yahoo Sports, it was the final game of Caitlin Clark’s rookie season, with a crowd of 20,711.

The WNBA also held two playoff games, with a total of 22,076 fans in attendance. Those games were the 2003 and 2007 Finals games at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit.

Kelsey Plum scored 22 points to help the Phantoms beat Paige Bueckers and the Breezes 71-68 on Friday.

In the second game of the night, Marina Marbury scored a game-high 47 points as the Moon Owls defeated the Roses 85-75.
