The 2026 transfer portal is now open for a few days and a record number of players have entered the portal, with over 3,000 entries so far. For North Carolina, they are using the portal to shake up their roster after a disappointing first season in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels secured a commitment from quarterback Billy Edwards early Sunday, and a few hours later, they added two more players on offense.

North Carolina received a commitment from Charleston Southern offensive lineman Andrew Threat on Sunday afternoon. This is UNC’s second commitment of the portal cycle and gives them another option on the offensive line.
Not long after, the Tar Heels added another piece on offense as wide receiver Jonathan Bibbs joined the program from UL Monroe. With North Carolina losing some wide receiver talent, adding depth is crucial.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound wide receiver caught 26 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns during his freshman season.
