Bengaluru-based startup Ultraviolette on Wednesday launched its new electric vehicle (EV) in India. With the debut of the Ultraviolette Tesseract, the company has entered the e-scooter market in the country, competing with the likes of Ather Energy and Ola Electric. The electric scooter comes with a dynamic regeneration system that is said to optimize energy consumption. The Ultraviolette comes with a 6kWh battery pack that is said to deliver an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) claimed range of up to 261 kilometers on a single charge.
Additionally, the company expanded its e-bike portfolio with the launch of the Ultraviolette Shockwave, an endurance bike with a 0-60 kilometers per hour (kmph) acceleration time of 2.9 seconds.

UV Hypercube Features
The Ultraviolette Tesseract is powered by an electric motor with peak power of up to 20bhp or 15kW. This helps the electric car achieve a top speed of 125 km/h. The dynamic regeneration system on the electric scooter provides four levels of energy regeneration. Meanwhile, two traction control modes help riders maintain control on rough or uneven terrain. It also has several other driving experience-related features such as dual-channel ABS, parking assist and hill parking.
IDC claims that the electric scooter has a range of 162 kilometers and 220 kilometers when using the 3.5kWh and 5kW battery packs respectively. At the same time, it is equipped with a high-end SRB-6 battery pack with a capacity of 6kW, and the cruising range can reach 261 kilometers. When it comes to charging, the company claims it can charge from 0% to 80% in an hour. Ultraviolette offers an 8-year/200,000km warranty on the Tesseract’s battery pack (whichever comes first).
The electric scooter comes with dual projector headlights with floating DRL, 7-inch TFT screen that provides turn-by-turn onboard navigation, Omnisense rear-view mirror with multi-color LED display, 14-inch wheels and 34 liters of under-seat storage space. Passengers also have the option to charge their phones during the journey via a built-in wireless charger.
For enhanced safety, it comes with integrated radar and dash cam. The front radar monitors approaching obstacles, while the rear radar tracks vehicles approaching from behind. The company’s ARAS 360 all-circuit radar system tracks the surrounding environment in real time. Additionally, the Ultraviolette offers safety technology such as blind-spot detection, lane change, passing assist and real-time collision alert.
Tesseract uses Violette AI, which keeps it connected to Ultraviolette’s servers to provide a comprehensive view of vehicle metrics, according to the company. It comes with connected features such as advanced ride analytics, motion, fall and traction alerts, remote locking, collision alert, daily ride statistics and a collision avoidance warning system.
Ultraviolet shock wave characteristics
The launch of the Ultraviolette Shockwave enduro bike is an ode to the ‘two-stroke motorcycle’. The company says it has a peak power output of 14.5 bhp or 10.8 kW, and IDC claims a range of 165 kilometers, powered by a 3.5kWh battery pack. The torque at the rear wheels is 505 Nm and the top speed is 120 km/h. The motorcycle is said to weigh just 120kg.
This electric bike has features related to the driving experience similar to the Ultraviolette Tesseract. This includes dual-channel ABS, traction control and dynamic regeneration. Its front and rear wheels are 90/90 R19 and 110/90 R17 spoked wheels respectively.
