An incident report obtained by Fox News Digital on November 6, 2024 shows that a TSA X-ray technician saw the weapon in a sheriff’s bag at Tucson International Airport and reported it to an officer. In the private screening room, an officer asked where the gun was in the bag. Nanos responded that it was in a zipper pocket and the officer removed the weapon and found five rounds in the magazine and another round in the chamber.

The incident did not result in any charges. Although Nanos missed his original flight, he booked another flight that day after storing the gun in his car.
“If an average citizen were to encounter this situation at an airport, the consequences would be far more severe,” Stephens told Fox News Digital. “As citizens, we want answers. The safety of our communities is at stake.”
Nanos’ TSA incident report follows the release of the findings of a workplace harassment investigation involving Nanos. Meanwhile, criticism has continued over the handling of Nancy’s case – including “corruption” at the crime scene.
Nancy, 84, was last seen on the evening of January 31 at her home in Catalina Foothills and was still missing as of press time. No suspects have been named in the case.
