If President Donald Trump had his way, the annual Army-Navy football game wouldn’t be in any competition with the College Football Playoff. In a Truth Society post Saturday night, Trump vowed to sign an executive order providing an exclusive broadcast window for the Army-Navy game.
“The Army vs. Navy game is one of our greatest American traditions – unparalleled patriotism, courage and honor!” Trump wrote in the post. “This incredible tradition is now at risk of being pushed aside by more college playoff money and big TV money. Not anymore!”

He continued: “Under my administration, the second Saturday in December belongs to Army-Navy and only Army-Navy! I will soon sign a historic executive order ensuring an exclusive 4-hour broadcast window so this national event is above the commercial playoffs. No other game or team can violate this time period!”
Referring to Army and Navy athletes, Trump wrote: “On the field, they are rivals, but on the battlefield, they are America’s unstoppable patriots, defending our country with tremendous strength and heart. We must protect our traditions, as well as our players. Please serve this as a notice to all networks, stations, and media outlets. God bless America and God bless our great Army-Navy game!!!”

Discovery Channel’s TNT, which sublicenses some CFP games from ESPN.
at the same time, THR Adding that Paramount – whose CEO is Trump ally David Ellison – would benefit from such an executive order. Paramount affiliates CBS and Paramount+ have exclusive rights to the annual showdown between the Army Black Knights at West Point, New York, and the Midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
The latest Army vs. Navy game, a 17-16 win over Army on December 13, 2025, averaged 7.84 million viewers, according to the game’s official website.
