President Donald Trump escalated his dissatisfaction with the New York Times earlier Tuesday, calling it “the real enemy of the people!” and a security threat that must be “stopped” in an early-morning rant on The Truth Society.
“The failed New York Times, with its lies and deliberate distortions, poses a serious threat to our country’s national security,” he began. “Their radical leftist, unhinged behavior, endless writing of fake articles and opinions, must be addressed and stopped. They are the true enemies of the people! Thank you [sic] Pay attention to this matter. DJT President. “

A New York Times report last month said his energy was waning, prompting the president to call a reporter for the article “ugly” and the paper at the time “the enemy of the people.”
It’s not entirely clear what sparked Trump’s ire in Florida, but the possibilities have been plentiful in the papers lately.
On Monday, Trump also accused the newspaper of downplaying his plans to lower prescription drug costs.
“The New York Times had a story about it in the back of the paper, a little story,” he told The Daily Beast in an interview. “This is probably the biggest thing to happen in the drug world in 50 years.”
Earlier this month, the newspaper sued Trump’s Pentagon and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over new press restrictions.
