President Donald Trump continued an annual tradition of ringing in the new year with a bizarre social media post that combined acid attacks and false claims.
Late Tuesday night, Trump shared a photo of himself on Truth Social with the caption, “More than 50% of voters approve of President Trump.”
In fact, as of this month, the president’s approval rating is just -12, CNN data guru Harry Enten reported this week.
But Trump assured his supporters not to worry, the numbers weren’t real.
“The polls are rigged even more than the authors. The real number is 64% and why not, our country is ‘hotter’ than ever,” he wrote in the post. “Wouldn’t it be nice to have strong borders, no inflation, a strong military and a great economy??? Happy New Year!”

In previous years, he has issued similar sarcastic New Year greetings.
“As the New Year approaches, I want to send an early New Year’s greeting to Crooked Joe Biden and his band of radical left-wing misfits and thugs who are endlessly trying to destroy our country through laws, hacking, and rigging elections,” Trump wrote on December 30, 2023. The 2024 presidential election. “
