Just six days after the TNA No Surrender match, Trey Miguel defended his newly won International Championship against Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo on “Thursday Night iMPACT.” Fortunately for Miguel, it proved to be a successful endeavor.
In the final moments of this title match, Miguel jumped off the top turnbuckle and hit Lorenzo with a meteor for a near fall. Before he could do further damage, Arianna Grace slid her Knockouts Champion into the ring to distract the referee, allowing Lorenzo to glance Miguel’s eyes and deliver a kick to the back of his head. Nonetheless, Miguel managed to rebound and win with the help of Shellshock (swinging reverse STO) and Lightning Spiral.

Miguel won the TNA International Championship for the first time at No Surrender by claiming the briefcase at Feast or Fired last month, marking his official return to TNA. Like tonight, Grace interfered with Miguel and Lorenzo’s title match at No Surrender. In both cases, though, Miguel overcame his involvement and defeated Lorenzo, who went on to appear on TNA shows through a partnership with WWE.
As of this writing, Miguel’s next challenger has yet to be determined. Lorenzo, meanwhile, is coming to the end of his 70-day reign as the TNA International Champion, having previously held the title in December, replacing Steve Maclin.
Prior to Lorenzo’s rematch with Miguel, Grace declared that she and Lorenzo would be TNA’s new power couple, especially considering she won the TNA Knockouts Championship at No Surrender. However, after consecutive losses to Miguel, Lorenzo now loses the title.
