Travis Etienne Jr. reportedly agrees to contract with Saints in free agency

One of the league’s top free agent running backs is off the market, as Travis Etienne Jr. has reportedly agreed to terms on a free-agent contract with the New Orleans Saints, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday.

Etienne, 27, is entering his sixth year in the league after being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 25th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, paired with former Clemson teammate Trevor Lawrence.

He missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury but hit the ground running quickly upon his return, totaling 1,125 yards and five touchdowns in his first year as a starter.

After averaging a career-low 37.2 yards per game in 2024, Etienne rebounded last season with 1,399 scrimmage yards and a career-best 13 touchdowns to become one of the top running backs in the free-agent class.
