Trail Blazers’ Yang Hansen puts up 3rd double-double in G League

Portland Trail Blazers rookie Jan Hansen notched his third double-double in the G League on Sunday to help lead the Rip City Remix against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Young had 11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in a 118-113 loss at the Chile Center. He went 5-for-9 from the field in 29 minutes and 5 seconds, and Remix fell to 13-10 in the regular season.

The No. 16 overall pick had nine points and seven rebounds in the second half alone. He once again showed off his skills in the paint with a series of moves, while also using his size and size to provide vertical opportunities for his teammates.

Young has played 35 games with the Trail Blazers this season, averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per game. On December 7, he made his first start, playing 19 minutes and scoring a total of 4 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

The 7-footer made his ninth appearance in the G League on Sunday and averaged 16.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.4 blocks while shooting 52 percent from the field. He has scored in double figures eight times, including 22 points on Jan. 14.

Young will have a chance to play extended minutes on Sunday, and minutes will be at a premium with the Trail Blazers. The team is encouraged by his progress this season and is eager to see his continued growth on the court.
