Tom Brady will be playing in a flag football tournament this weekend. This could be a precursor to a bigger event two years later.
Via NFL.com, Brady spoke on Tuesday’s show good morning america Whether he will compete in Olympic flag football in 2028.

“I will never say never,” Brady said.
He also said it was “unlikely”. After all, Brady will be 50 when the next Olympics are held.
“I’m going to put young Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen out there and try to win a gold medal for the United States,” Brady said.
It’s unclear whether Mahomes and Allen are willing to do so. Or if they will be drafted into the team.
That remains a huge unknown for the eventual 2028 U.S. men’s Olympic team. Who will NFL select as a shortlist? What will they do?
There will be some comparative insights on Saturday when two teams made up of current and former NFL players (and random celebrities) will compete in a championship game, including the current U.S. men’s flag football team.

Ultimately, NFL will have to decide whether the 2028 team will be determined by invitation or selection. The idea of a team made up of current and former NFL players competing against the U.S. men’s team to determine which group is better suited to represent their country has a lot of merit.
Then there’s the marketing angle. Many different combinations of America’s elite tackle and flag football players could easily win gold medals. Having a big name will attract higher ratings and generate greater interest.
Saturday’s game deserves more attention than previous formats involving three NFL players and YouTubers or anyone else. The best of the best current flag football players will get a chance to showcase what they can do against non-flag football players, and they may be surprised when they face a highly motivated team of experienced flag football players who are familiar with the nuances of the sport.
