Benjamin Nygren’s winner at Pittodrie on Wednesday night has hurt countless people who are desperately trying to convince themselves and others that it should not stand…

So much so that they experienced severe hallucinations, all the result of spending hours re-watching the moment to convince themselves otherwise.
Celtic winner upsets all the right people
Of course, the vast majority of these people are supporters of our Glasgow rivals Rangers, who have been underwhelming since 10pm on Wednesday, largely because our victory dropped their club to third place. Some of their east coast cousins have also joined in the midweek paranoia, with Celtic closing in on leaders Hearts while leapfrogging Rangers, who have dropped to third.

Motherwell travel to Dundee tomorrow and if Fir Park pick up three points they will move within a point of the latest Ibrox club.
Rangers supporters, both famous and lesser-known, have flooded the airwaves, screens and social media platforms with claims that the “dark arts” are at work yet again.
VAR’s decision on Celtic’s winning goal was a fact
Granted, I was immediately concerned that Benji’s goal violated the law, but like someone who practices and knows the rules of the game, upon closer inspection, I knew it was clearly a legitimate goal. Pittodrie’s linesman made the correct call in real time and it was ultimately backed up by the VAR team, which was fair enough to him.

The line had been drawn and it proved beyond dispute that Benji’s timing was impeccable and his goal was legitimate and no one could reasonably claim otherwise.
Apart from a handful of Aberdeen and Hearts supporters, and much of Glasgow’s blue half, it was they who, ironically, expressed the most intense anger at Benji’s goal.

That fact didn’t stop them from crying out for fouls, but of course, like their protests after losses to Livingston and Celtic or any other game they failed to win, it was nothing more than a convenient smokescreen to cover up their own failure.

Significantly increased pressure
The pressure is clearly mounting on the third-placed contenders in the title race, with Hearts, Celtic and Rangers facing even more pressure over the next nine games, while Motherwell still have ten games to play in the Scottish Premiership
Celtic won fair and square in Aberdeen. We may not be performing well but we are showing the right spirit and determination needed for the title race.
Four key controversial events in the game are as follows…
1. Marks on Kieran Tierney—— A Dundee United player was shown a red card at the weekend. Willie Collum recently discussed this studded stamp on his VAR commentary show and made it clear that it should be a red card. Pittodrie didn’t happen.

2. Aberdeen penalty – Scales’ exposure was minimal, to say the least. The impact was not strong enough to award a penalty kick.
3. Celtic’s massive claim dismissed after fastest check – Sky Sports’ gaslighting does not affect the outstretched arm at the time of contact. As Martin O’Neill pointed out, it should have been a Celtic penalty.

4.Nygren’s goal was given by the on-field official and all goals are checked by VAR. This check took longer than the others and after drawing the line, VAR ruled the goal valid. this is a fact Decide.

Nygren’s winner performs well
Benji’s goal was outstanding and, more importantly, a legitimate goal. No amount of fake images will change this result. Those who hold the opposite view can only face reality and deal with it. Unsurprisingly, they had nothing to say about their other three controversies against Aberdeen, with their interim boss Peter Levene publicly calling on his players to seize every opportunity as part of his cheating charter.
Good luck to Neil Lennon in tomorrow night’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at Dunfermline.
