Nick Blankenberg

A great name for a defenseman, Blankenburg will be traded from the Nashville Predators to the Colorado Avalanche for a fifth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.

Blankenburg, a native of Washington, Mich., is now a member of the National Hockey League’s All-Pro team. The Avalanche currently have 91 points, six more than the hot Dallas Stars.
During his NHL career, Blankenburg played three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the final two seasons with the Nashville Predators.
In the 2025-26 season, Blankenburg scored 6 goals and contributed 15 assists for 21 points. He had a -11 rating, 10 penalty minutes, seven power-play scores, 59 shots on goal, 51 blocks, 47 hits, 15 takeaways and 52 passes.
Nick Dodd

Dodd will be traded from the Washington Capitals to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for rising goalie Jesper Vikman from Danderyd, Sweden, a 2029 second-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick.

Dodd, a center from Huntsville, Ala., will join his fourth NHL team after three seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, one with the Vancouver Canucks and eight with the Capitals.
In the 2025-26 season, Dodd scored 4 goals, contributed 12 assists and scored 16 points in 55 games. He had a -6 rating, 53 minutes of playing time, 48 shots on goal, 373 face-off wins, 43 blocks, 113 hits, 15 passes and 36 lost balls.
Jeff Petry

Petry, a senior defensive lineman from Ann Arbor, Mich., will be traded from the Florida Panthers to the Minnesota Wild for a 2026 conditional seventh-round draft pick. So far in the 2025-26 season, he has eight assists and eight points in 58 games.

Petry has played for five other teams over the past 16 seasons. They are the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings and Florida Panthers.
