Chelsea are hoping to sign Jeremy Jacquet and include him in the squad before the end of the transfer window, in a similar situation to their pursuit of Enzo Fernandez in 2023, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are not expected to be busy this month, but their plans have changed and they are looking to bring in a new centre-back.

The Frenchman has reportedly agreed to join Chelsea, but the Blues are yet to reach an agreement with Rennes, who are said to be asking for £60 million.
Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also interested in Jacquet, with Rennes hoping to keep the 20-year-old until the summer.
Jacquet said he would prefer to join Chelsea.
The France Under-21 international is contracted until 2029, but no offers have been received for the youngster.

Chelsea are now believed to be still trying to sign Jacquet, with Romano providing an update on the situation.
“Chelsea really want Jacquet now,” he told his YouTube channel.
“It reminds me of the Enzo Fernandez story, when Benfica didn’t want him to leave and then he came in January, the difference is that Jacquet didn’t have a release clause and it would have been very expensive to let him go this season, but Chelsea knew that and wanted to try and insist on bringing him in now.
“Let’s see, Jacquet is going to be a special player and the games are about to start.”
Jacquet has made 18 appearances in all competitions this season and is considered one of the most promising central defenders in Europe.

The Frenchman has not played for Chelsea for over a year but has made a few appearances for the development squad to strengthen his game.
However, Disasi appears to be on the verge of a loan move to West Ham United, which should give him the chance to get his career back on track after a very difficult six months.
