According to “The Athletic”, Chelsea does not expect to win the Premier League title at the end of the season.
Chelsea went unbeaten in November and put in some impressive performances, but got off to their worst start in December.

The Blues performed poorly on Wednesday night, losing 3-1 to Leeds United at Elland Road and falling to fourth place.
Chelsea are not expected to win the league this season
Chelsea started the game six points behind leaders Arsenal but now they are nine points behind the Gunners.
The Blues are also four points behind second-placed Manchester City and three points behind third-placed Aston Villa, and need to be careful not to get caught up in the race for the top four.

Maresca was not happy with his performance against Leeds, which certainly highlights why many consider Chelsea to be title contenders.

John Terry believes Chelsea are poor and the Blues need to respond and get back on track against Bournemouth on Saturday with seven games remaining in all competitions in December.
The club haven’t challenged or won the Premier League since Antonio Conte in 2017, and that doesn’t look to be ending any time soon.
However, The Athletic once again reports that Chelsea are not internally expecting to win the league title in May and aim to finish in the top four.
Enzo Maresca made too many changes?
Chelsea have done a lot with their rotation numbers this season, which is somewhat necessary given their performance in the Club World Cup.

However, the rotation arguably exposed the team’s depth as not being as good as one initially thought, with too many players not meeting the required standards at the moment.
Any rotation at centre-back seems disastrous and there is a real lack of chemistry in attack, which is perhaps unsurprising given the overhaul in the summer, but Chelsea must find ways to improve or it could be a long season.
