Texas A&M’s 2026 spring football schedule revealed

Texas A&M finished the 2025 football season with an 11-2 record and made the College Football Playoff for the first time in head coach Mike Elko’s second season. However, a loss to Texas at the end of the regular season, coupled with a 10-3 loss to national runner-up Miami in a game that was supposed to be the opposite, was certainly frustrating after a historic season.

Still, Elko has undoubtedly improved in Year 2, and Texas A&M’s 2026 coaching staff has several new names on the roster after offensive coordinator Colin Klein transferred to Kansas State and took over as his alma mater’s newest head coach, plus key promotions, including wide receivers coach Hallmon Wiggins taking over as the new head coach.

After the transfer portal opened on Jan. 9, Elko and his staff got to work, landing 17 portal commitments, including recently acquired Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton, while Northwestern transfer edge Anto Saka was one of NFL scouts’ favorite prospects and will be looking to replace outgoing All-American edge player Cashius Howell.

Starting quarterback Marcel Reed will enter his third season and second full season as a starter and will play behind a new offensive line that features four transfers who were starters in the SEC last season. Texas A&M is ranked No. 8 in nearly all early preseason rankings, even as the national media begins to trust Mike Elko’s building plan despite losing double-digit players to the 2026 NFL Draft.

Texas A&M will announce its 2026 spring football schedule to the public Wednesday night, which begins next month. The Aggies will begin taking the field on Friday, March 20, with a total of 15 practices ending on Saturday, April 18.

It is unclear whether the practice will be available to the public. Combined with the 25 recruits in the 2026 signing class, minus tight end Evan Jacobson, who will arrive this summer, Texas A&M’s 42 new scholarship players will showcase their talents during the 15-day practice period.
