With the transfer portal officially open, Texas A&M fans will finally have a clear idea of who’s actually in, rather than relying on “expected” reports. The latest to officially enter the portal, Aggie is a young receiver who will never be able to carve out a consistent role in the rotation.
On Friday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that redshirt freshman Izaiah Williams has entered the transfer portal. The former four-star recruit committed to A&M in the 2023 class and has improved with reasonable speed and playmaking ability. Despite a strong showing in last spring, his opportunities were limited. Williams appeared in nine of A&M’s 13 games this season and finished his Aggie career with fewer than 10 total catches.

With Ashton Bethel-Roman emerging, Mario Craver returning, and A&M actively in the portal looking for proven receivers, Williams likely saw the writing on the wall. Testing the market gives him a chance to find a program that can truly compete for a starting role. The talent was there – now he just needed the right people.
Below is his announcement.
