Team USA continues historic Winter Olympics run at 2026 Milan Cortina Games

Team USA has set an unprecedented record of success in all sports at the 2026 Winter Olympics, and remains gunning for more glory as the Milan Cortina Games draw to a close.

Many hockey fans are eagerly awaiting Sunday’s men’s gold medal game against Canada. However, Team USA has had great success on the ice, with the women’s hockey team winning a gold medal.

On Saturday, Team USA broke its own record for gold medals in a single Winter Olympics. After winning their 11th gold medal (and counting), Team USA made huge strides in Cortina, Milan.

The trio of Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran and Chris Lillis increased Team USA’s gold medal tally to a historic 11. This comes during the freestyle skiing mixed team aerials competition, which could set the tone for more medals in the final weekend of the Winter Olympics.

As early as the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, the United States team maintained the previous record with 10 gold medals. However, the United States still has several chances to capture the gold medal in Milan Cortina, including their NHL hockey team’s hopes of beating Canada in the final.

Meanwhile, Team USA can still build on their impressive 2026 campaign with medals in women’s curling, bobsleigh and other sports. Talented athletes such as skaters Alysa Liu and Elana Meyers Taylor have managed to put Team USA in second place in medal totals.
