T20 World Cup 2026: Yesterday’s match reports, results and highlights

New Delhi: The group stages of the 2026 T20 World Cup featured overwhelming victories, outstanding individual performances and decisive results that shaped the Super 8 line-up on Wednesday.

In the morning session, South Africa comfortably defeated the United Arab Emirates by six wickets. Chasing at 123, the Proteas finished the chase in just 13.2 overs.

Aiden Markram’s 28 off 11 balls provided the team with early momentum, while Ryan Rickleton made 30 off 16 balls. Youngster Dewald Brevis impressed with his fluid performance of 36 off 25 balls, showcasing his power with a couple of towering sixes.

Earlier, the UAE struggled against South Africa’s pace attack with Anrich Nortje (2/28) and Corbin Bose (3/12) leading the way as the UAE posted 122/6 despite Alishan Sharaf’s 45.

In the second match, Pakistan defeated Namibia by 102 runs and continued their victory. Opener Sahibzada Farhan starred with an unbeaten 100 off 58 balls, supported by Salman Agha and Shadab Khan.

Pakistan scored 199/3 and Namibia were reduced to 97 runs as Usman Tariq (4/16) and Shadab Khan (3/19) shared seven wickets to seal Pakistan’s place in the Super 8s.

In the last match, India beat the Netherlands by 17 points to continue their winning streak and become the first in Group A. With the help of Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube smashed 66 off 31 balls to seal India’s record at 193/6. The Netherlands struggled hard, led by Bas de Leede’s 33, but Varun Chakravarthy’s 3/14 ensured India’s fourth straight win.
