Inter Milan have reportedly made unexpected contact with Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Providel as they continue to plan a possible goalkeeping shake-up ahead of next season.
The news comes from former Lazio and Italy goalkeeper Fernando Orsi, who shared an anecdote about Inter Milan’s transfer activity in an interview with Sky Sports.

According to Orsi, the Nerazzurri have put the Lazio goalkeeper to the test in view of a possible transfer in the summer.
“I read that Provedel has been in contact with Inter Milan for next season,” Orsi explained, By FCInter1908.
“I read… that he is a physical goalkeeper. Maybe, his career so far has not fully reflected his qualities.”

Providel has become a key figure for Lazio over the past two seasons, earning recognition in Italy with his consistency and control of areas.
Inter Milan’s interest would fit in with wider plans for the position, Yann Sommer’s future outside current campaign remains uncertain.
The 30-year-old Providel represents an experienced domestic player who knows Serie A very well and does not require a long adaptation period.
Currently, there are no ongoing negotiations and there is no indication that Lazio have received formal approaches.
