Dillon Brooks has caused problems for the Golden State Warriors since his days with the Memphis Grizzlies. As a member of the Houston Rockets, his rivalry with the Warriors intensified with their meeting in the first round of last year’s playoffs. On Thursday night in Phoenix, Brooks went back and forth against the Warriors as a member of the Phoenix Suns.
With the Suns holding a five-point lead in the final minutes of the game, Brooks was whistled for a foul on Curry after the Golden State star guard attempted a jumper. Upon review, it appeared Brooks hit Curry in the gut area long after the ball left his hands. Brooks was quickly called for a flagrant foul and Curry was sent to the free throw line.

Brooks’ foul helped the Warriors open the door to a late comeback. After Curry made two free throws, Jimmy Butler hit a key three-pointer to tie the score. Despite tying the game, the Suns still defeated the Warriors 99-98.
Curry played 33 minutes in the game, making 3 of 13 shots and 2 of 9 shots, scoring 15 points, grabbing 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
The Warriors will see Brooks and the Suns in a rematch Saturday night at Chase Center in San Francisco.
