SEATTLE (AP) — Hannes Steinbach had 21 points and 14 rebounds, Zom Diallo scored 17 points on 8-for-13 shooting, and Washington beat San Diego 86-56 on Monday night.
Desmond Crowder added 13 points for Washington (8-4).

Steinbach has seven double-doubles in just nine games this season, tied for seventh in Division I. The 6-foot-11 freshman missed three games with an ankle injury suffered during an 81-69 win over Washington State on Nov. 14.
San Diego’s Juanes Gorosito and Adrian McIntyre combined for 15 points (5-7) on 13-of-21 shooting. The rest of the Bulldogs shot 22 percent (8-of-36) from the field.
Diallo hit a jump shot and a layup, and Steinbach hit another three-pointer and a three-pointer. About 3.5 minutes into the game, the Huskies led 10-3. San Diego scored the next eight points to take a one-point lead, but 29 seconds later J.J. Mandaquit scored inside to give Washington the lead for good, and with 4:32 left in the first half, Washington went on a 20-0 run to make it 36-14.
The Bulldogs went 0-for-7 from the field and committed six turnovers during a scoring drought that lasted more than seven minutes.

Washington outscored San Diego 23-6 at the free throw line, 44-16 in the paint and outscored the Matadors 46-28.
Next
San Diego will face Pacific in the West Coast Conference opener on Sunday.
Washington will host Utah next Monday.
