Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Desperados is getting its biggest update yet. The developer will launch Title Update 1.4 for the action-adventure game on November 21st, bringing improvements to combat, stealth, and character movement controls. The patch will be released alongside the release of Star Wars Desperados on Steam and its first story expansion, Wild Card. Since its release on August 30, Star Wars Desperados has received three game updates to address its gameplay and technical issues.
Star Wars Outlaws Title Update 1.4
In a development update on Monday, Ubisoft detailed how Star Wars Outlaws will be supported post-launch. Drew Rechner, the game’s new creative director, said the studio has incorporated player feedback to prioritize the updates the game needs. Rechner detailed three key areas of improvement that will be covered in Title Update 1.4.
“The first key area of gameplay improvement is combat, where we saw a real opportunity to add depth and excitement to the experience, further rewarding your tactics and precision,” the director said.
“Our second key area is stealth, not only to improve readability and consistency in enemy detection, but also to provide options for how you respond to each encounter.
“Finally, our third area of focus is character control, which means improving the reliability of cover, improving the responsiveness of climbing and crouching, and generally improving the overall consistency of controls.”
According to Rehner, these gameplay improvements will highlight more options for players when executing missions, whether preferring a stealthy approach or taking on enemies head-on with your blaster. Ubisoft will share specific details about promised improvements to the game in the coming weeks.
Game Update 1.4 will be released on all supported platforms on November 21st, the same day Star Wars Outlaws launches on Steam with the release of its first story expansion, Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Cards.
Star Wars Desperados Launch
Star Wars Outlaws launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on August 30. The action-adventure game, which tells the story of competing crime syndicates in the open-world Star Wars setting, was marred by technical issues and bugs at launch.
A month after the game’s release, Ubisoft said that initial sales of Star Wars: Desperados were “lower than expected” and delayed Assassin’s Creed: Shadows to February 2025, noting outlaw‘Introduced as a learning experience.
“In response to player feedback, Ubisoft’s development team is now fully mobilized to quickly implement a series of updates to refine and improve the player experience in order to attract a large audience during the holiday season and position Star Wars Outlaws as a strong performer long-term,” the company said at the time when announcing the game’s November 21 release date on Steam.
Ubisoft has since rolled out three game updates for Star Wars Desperados that address some mission-critical bugs, stealth-related issues, and tweaks to the speed camera and collision, among other reported issues.
