On Thursday, Ubisoft released the first trailer for Pirate’s Fortune, an expansion pack for Star Wars: Desperados. The expansion will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on May 15th. “Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate’s Fortune” is the second story expansion for the main game, following the launch of the Wild Card DLC in November 2024. Along with announcing the second story pack, Ubisoft also revealed the release date for Star Wars Outlaws on Nintendo Switch 2.
Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate’s Fortune Details
The first trailer for Pirates of Fortune shows Kay Vess and her companion Nyx exploring the Khepi system in search of treasure. Smugglers team up with legendary pirate Hondo Ohnaka to uncover the secrets of Kepi’s Tomb. Players will also encounter the Miyuki Trade Federation and engage in smuggling activities in exchange for new rewards for pioneers.
Prior to the official announcement of the DLC, a trailer was originally scheduled to be officially unveiled at the Star Wars Celebration event on Friday, but was accidentally released early and leaked online.
Players who have completed the base game’s main story will be able to experience Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate’s Fortune. It will be free and automatically accessible for players who purchase the Season Pass; for everyone else, it will be available as a separate purchase.
The DLC also brings some in-game rewards and cosmetics. Owners of the Ultimate and Deluxe editions of the base game will receive the Naboo Nobles and Desert Nomad cosmetic packs through the expansion. As part of the expansion update, all players will also receive beautiful cosmetics inspired by the Disney+ TV series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Additionally, Ubisoft has announced a free three-hour demo for Star Wars Desperados, now permanently available on all supported platforms, allowing players to access a portion of the game.
Ubisoft also confirmed that Star Wars Desperados will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4th. The game was announced during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct on April 2. The action-adventure game, releasing on August 30, 2024, will put players in the role of Outer Rim smuggler Kay Vess.
