Sony has launched festive season offers in India, bringing discounts on PS5 in the country. The limited-time offer slashes the price of both the digital and physical versions of the console by Rs. 5,000. Sony’s festive sale will start on Monday, September 22, on Amazon, Flipkart, Express Commerce Platform and various offline retailers.
PS5 gets Rs. 5,000 discount
PlayStation parent company announced holiday season sales on Friday. This offer is valid on two select PlayStation 5 models: PS5 Physical Edition (CFI-2008A01X) and PS5
Digital Edition (CFI-2008B01X). Both consoles are available with a discount of Rs. 5,000.
The PS5 Digital Edition is priced at Rs. 44,990, which is less than the retail price. 49,990. The physical version of the console retails at Rs. 54,990 and is priced at Rs. 49,990. The festive sale will last till October 19, 2025, or while stocks last at Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Zepto, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales, Sony Center and other authorized PlayStation retailers in the country.
Sony’s sale coincides with the festive season sales on Amazon and Flipkart, bringing discounts on multiple products.
In July, Sony increased the price of the digital version of its PS5 console in India by Rs. 5,000. The price of the console has increased from Rs. 44,990 Rs 49,990. The company has not changed the price of the physical PS5. Remember, the PS5 Digital Edition is priced at Rs. India has 39,990 people.
In April, Sony raised PS5 prices in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand, citing a “challenging economic environment” after the US announced widespread tariffs on imported products. Last month, the company also increased the prices of the PS5 and PS5 Pro in the United States.
The uncertain economic environment and tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this year have led several manufacturers to raise prices on their products. Microsoft raised the price of its Xbox consoles globally for the first time in May. On Friday, the company announced it would raise the price of Xbox in the United States starting in October.
