The PlayStation Plus game catalog titles for December have been revealed. Open-world platformer Sonic Frontiers tops the list of games coming to PS Plus this month. The game brings traditional platforming from past Sonic games into an open-world environment for the first time. Other games added to the catalog in December include action-adventure game Forspoken, multiplayer party game Rabbids: Legendary Party, rally racing game WRC Generations, management simulation game Jurassic World Evolution 2, and more. All games will be available for PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members starting December 17th.
Sony also announced Wednesday the lineup of games coming to the PS VR2 and PS Plus Classics Catalog this month. Late last month, PlayStation parent company announced the monthly PS Plus game list for December; the three free games – “It Takes Two,” “Aliens: Dark Descent” and “Temtem” – are still available to all tiers of PS Plus subscribers.
December PS Plus Game Catalog Titles
Sonic Frontier, the first open-world Sonic game, joins the PS Plus game catalog this month. The game world here differs from the linear levels found in previous games in the series, expanding the available explorable areas. But at its core, the platforming gameplay remains familiar. Players control Sonic the Hedgehog as he travels across the world at breakneck speed, collecting rings, grinding rails, and solving puzzles.
The open world is an island environment full of secrets. Players can choose to explore any given area at any time and are free to tackle the game’s challenges in any order they like. Sonic will also encounter enemies as he traverses intricate platforming sections. Sonic Frontier will be available on PS4 and PS5.

Another open world game is coming to the games catalog in December. “Forspoken”, released in 2023 on PC and PS5, is an action role-playing game launched by Square Enix. Players will control Frey, a New Yorker who accidentally discovers a magical artifact and is transported to a fantasy world. Frey must then use her newfound magical powers to protect Asia from a deadly threat.
In the game, players will be able to use different branches of magical power and a magical traversal system, allowing Frey to jump, skip and jump over long distances. She can use her abilities to freely run up cliffs and jump over bodies of water. “Forspoken” will be available on PS5.
Rally racing simulation game WRC Generations is also coming to PS Plus this month. The game promises an authentic and uncompromising rally racing experience and is licensed to recreate the 2022 World Rally Championship. WRC Generations was released in 2002 and included new hybrid models of realistic rally cars. Vehicles equipped with hybrid engines also feature new driving mechanisms. In addition to real cars and tracks, players can participate in various modes, including a league mode that lets players challenge opponents online.
