Son picked by South Korea for fourth World Cup campaign

South Korean icon Son Heung-min will make his fourth World Cup appearance after being named in the 26-man squad on Saturday.

The 33-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min now plays for Los Angeles Football Club.

Midfielder Hwang In Beom was selected despite an ankle injury. Borussia Mönchengladbach player Jens Castrop, who was born in Germany to a Korean mother, will also head to North America.

South Korea will play three Group A matches in Mexico, with the first match against the Czech Republic on June 11. They will also face Mexico and South Africa.
