Raiola broke out as a freshman in 2024, racking up 2,819 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He started a total of 22 games with the program.
The sophomore had a solid second season that was cut short by injury. He passed for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, six interceptions, and had a completion rate of 72.4%.
Raiola was injured in Nebraska’s game against USC and was fired in the third quarter. The injury forced him to miss the remainder of the game and confirmed he suffered a fractured right fibula that would end the season.
This move certainly reshapes the Husker quarterback room going forward. It will be interesting to see which direction the programs take and how active they are on the signal caller’s transport portal.
