SMU is going to do WHAT to Notre Dame Stadium?

Friday is also designed for choice. How about triple choice?

SMU acquisition?

I’m going to be honest here…I was completely floored by a tweet from a guy named Scoot McGee (no, I don’t know who – nor should I know). The man listed on his X resume as a “Dallas Insider” said Notre Dame will be in for a real surprise when SMU comes to South Bend in mid-November for a 7:30 game.

Are we serious? Has SMU occupied any opponent’s stadium in the past 50 years? Don’t get me wrong – I love the enthusiasm, I really love the optimism. That kind of confidence suggests SMU thinks they’ll be ranked pretty high, and it feels like a fun night under the gold dome.

Come on, Scoot – get serious (but, can a guy named “Scoot” be serious?).

Does Marcus Freeman need to sign a blood oath?

Although Marcus Freeman has been very public about his desire to stay at Notre Dame rather than jump to the NFL in the future, some people aren’t buying it. At this point, I’m not sure what else Freeman can say (nor should he), we’ll just have to accept it without breaking some wild dark magic binding spell.

Are you grateful?

As someone who complains publicly every year about the lack of a noon show on Notre Dame’s schedule (hey, you guys – I love a proper noon slot everywhere), I want to make sure you appreciate Notre Dame’s partnership with NBC. Ohio State, for example, has always been a program that has had to go through midday games in big games and the like. Their fans are becoming increasingly upset at the lack of a good night game (or any night game for that matter).

a very important date

I think things (at least in the preseason) are starting to establish the Notre Dame-Miami game as one of the most important games of the year. But the thing is, this is going to be a big day for the entire country. If Notre Dame put on a real show on a day like this – it would be fun. Like this would be really fun. It’s still hard to predict where College GameDay will be played, but I still think it will end up being Notre Dame.
