Sixers head coach Nick Nurse expressed disappointment last week that Bloom was injured after a stellar performance with the Blue Jackets. The team said Bloom will be re-evaluated in four weeks and will provide further updates as appropriate.
Bloom signed a two-way contract and played sparingly with the Sixers, with Nurse playing a total of 55 minutes in 11 games. On November 25, he played more than 10 minutes in a game and scored 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The 23-year-old averaged 21.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals in 26 games for the Blue Jackets while shooting 46.3% from the field. On January 16, he broke out with a G League season-high 50 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists.
Bloom and the team will certainly be hoping for a speedy recovery after the setback on the court. He’s had a productive year and hopes to get back on the court soon.
