Sixers injury news: VJ Edgecombe, others get upgrades vs. Bulls

As the Philadelphia 76ers prepare to take on the Chicago Bulls on Friday to begin a five-game road trip, they may have some reinforcements back on the court.

Initial injury reports stated that VJ Edgecombe, Quentin Grimes and Dominic Barlow were all ruled out against the Bulls due to illness, before they were all upgraded as possible for this game. All three players missed Tuesday’s home loss to the Brooklyn Nets with illness.

As for Joel Embiid (dealing with right knee injury), his availability remains questionable. The big man did suffer a brief scare in the third quarter on Tuesday when he went down while grabbing his right knee. He went to the locker room, then returned and finished the game.

The 76ers and Bulls will kick off Friday night at 7:30 pm ET from the United Center. Philadelphia will be looking to avenge a loss to the Bulls on Nov. 4, when they blew a 24-point lead.
