The NFL has its constants. Its desire for equality is consistent and its willingness to change the rules to make the game better. It’s also known that these rule changes are often made to benefit the offense. The Philadelphia Eagles are the well-known exception. They put on a seemingly unstoppable game and the world ended. Our goal is to rid our great game of the Birds’ notorious and undefendable style of play for good.
Anyway, we digress. The key is that our game is constantly changing, but there are also certainties. As strange as it sounds, one of the constants of pro football is that things are bound to change.

This statement seems more confusing when typing it and re-reading it, but something tells us that most people understand it. Need an example? Just look at every NFL team’s roster. We can assure you that there will be turnover every year.
Whenever an Eagles season ends, no matter how it ends, we know we’re watching some familiar faces take the final snaps. In this exercise, we ignore some of the big names and focus more on those with longer tenures.
Jahan Dotson, wide receiver
Jahan Dotson is a former first-round pick that the Eagles acquired from a division rival in a 2024 offseason trade. That meant he had a fifth-year option included in his contract, but he decided to turn it down.

That makes this a contract season, and while Dotson can play, he’ll only be the fifth or sixth option in any given game. Then, there’s another thing. Philadelphia has had a revolving door at the third wide receiver position for some time.
Brandon Graham, defensive lineman
It’s a pain. If we don’t already know anything else about Brandon Graham, we know that he will likely play into his 40s and remain productive.
Who knows? All they have to do is move him from edge to defensive tackle, which would make him the second Corey Simon.

Graham still had gas in the tank. He no longer has to make every play on defense, but he is a good rotational player. Still, Philadelphia has a lot of people to feed. They have young players like Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis whose time to get paid is coming soon.
Matt Pryor and Brett Toth, offensive linemen
Matt Pryor and Brett Troth will never be remembered like Evan Mathis or Brandon Brooks, but they were pretty good. They’re also Eagles through and through.
Nonetheless, now is the time to look for long-term succession options for Rian Johnson. This team also needs depth inside. The aging lineman, who is average at best, might be one of the most likely candidates to get a walking pass.

Sidney Brown and Keeley Ringo
The second one needed a mini facelift. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are now Pro Bowlers and long-term cornerstones. Kelee Ringo and safety Sydney Brown, not so much.
Brown and Ringo will not be eligible to become free agents until then next season. It still seems possible that they could play through the spring and summer and find themselves in trouble at the end of the 2026 preseason.
This is not what we want from them. Of course, people are still praying that the lights will come on, but if not, these two will likely continue to fall down the depth chart as Philadelphia continues to tinker with the roster.
