Sioux Falls Lincoln to face Huron for state Class AA boys basketball title

RAPID CITY — Top-seeded, undefeated Sioux Falls Lincoln will face third-seeded Huron for the 2026 state Class AA boys basketball championship.

Lincoln (23-0) defeated fourth-seeded Harrisburg 53-48 and Huron (19-4) defeated second-seeded Sioux Falls Roosevelt 53-44 in the semifinals on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Monument Ice Arena.

Lincoln and Huron will compete for the state championship in the Central Region on Saturday, March 21 at approximately 7:45 p.m. In other games, Tea vs. O’Gorman for seventh place at noon, consolation champion Watertown vs. Brandon Valley at 1:45 p.m., Harrisburg vs. Roosevelt for third place at 6 p.m.

Sam DeGroot scored 24 points for the SFL, Brody Schafer had 11 points and Sam Ericsson nine points. Stellen Larson had a solid performance for Harrisburg with 14 points and eight rebounds. Cole Kuik and Clayton Gibbon each scored 11 points.

Huron made 28 of 32 free throws in the second semifinal to hold off Roosevelt. Blake Erwin made 15 of 17 free throws and scored a team-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Anderson Porisch scored 13 points and Myles Ellwein scored 8 points. Deondre Painter (14 points), Memphis Bylander (10 points) and Bryson Skogsberg (eight rebounds) led SFR.

Friday’s consolation semifinals

73 Watertown, 68 Tea District

Watertown trailed 40-49 late in the third quarter, avenging its regular-season loss to Tea. In the final quarter, the Arrows defeated the Titans 32-17.

Carter Buisker scored 34 points to lead the Arrows. Jackson McClemans scored 24 points and Jack Mack had 10 rebounds.

Tea’s Gavin Shawd led all scorers with 40 points. Griffin Wibenga contributed 16 points and Kayden Williamson had 8 rebounds.

Brandon Valley 57, O’Gorman 52

Brandon Valley’s Brayden Knutson scored 17 points, Austin Dowd had 13 points, Lincoln McInerney had 12 points and Ayuel Deng had 9 points. Dodd also had eight rebounds.

Mason Clark scored 22 points, Jaxson Weeldreyer added 10 points and O’Gorman added 10 points.
