A series of shark attacks has rocked Sydney, Australia, over the past few days.
There have been three attacks in just 24 hours, the latest of which was an 11-year-old surfer at Dee Why beach who managed to escape unscathed, followed by a victim believed to be in his 20s who was surfing at North Steyn Beach and is now in a critical condition.
The latter footage shows the moment the shark makes contact with the surfer.
The attack in North Steyne happened just after 6:00pm on Monday. Two other people were in the water when the unidentified surfer was attacked. One of them is only known by the first name Ash manly observer This shark is “five meters long” [16-foot] monster. “
Ash recalled while assisting in the rescue:
“My mates put him on the surfboard and pushed him to shore. There was blood on the board and I tried to pull them to help. The guy was silent because of the pain but was still conscious and I kept telling him not to look at his legs and we just kept paddling.”
After landing, the victim suffered cardiac arrest. First responders used CPR and a defibrillator to revive the man. He was taken to hospital.

An 11-year-old surfer was attacked early Monday morning by what is believed to be a bull shark, which could be four to five feet long. Towards manly observerThe young surfer, whose identity has been withheld, said:
“I was on my surfboard when the shark came up and bit it. I was knocked off the board. A guy there came up to me and helped me get back to shore quickly.
“I was in good shape but I was obviously nervous and there was a piece cut off the board and there were a couple of bite marks in it.”
Despite the debris on the board, the boy walked away unscathed.
It comes after another shark incident shocked the region on Sunday, when a 12-year-old boy was attacked by a “large shark” while swimming in Sydney Harbor at Nelson Park in the suburb of Vaucluse. That makes three encounters in just 24 hours.
As a result of all this activity, NSW Police reported:
“All beaches on the Northern Beaches are closed until further notice and will be kept under review.”
