Second arrest made in Jackson Co. homicide, 1 at large

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a May 2025 Summit Township homicide, but say one of the suspects is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting occurred on May 16, 2025, in the 100 block of Lincoln Court in Summit Twp., where police said three men opened fire on a home in the area, killing four men: Anthony Owens, Kenneth Avant, Randall Hurst and Michael Gant. The four victims were taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, where Owens later died from his injuries.

On Monday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office announced that 27-year-old Montez Marees White was found and arrested in Ohio in connection with the incident. Tyrek Tra-Quan Jabrie Rice was arrested earlierwho was also located in Ohio late last year.

Both men are awaiting extradition to Jackson County to face multiple felony charges, including open murder, assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and felony firearm.

The final suspect charged by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, 26-year-old Dion Jamel Flowers Jr., has not yet been located and is considered armed and dangerous.
