SEC football transfer portal tracker: Who’s in, who’s out?

College football’s free agency model has transformed the sport, and the transfer portal itself has changed this winter.

The portal period is now Jan. 2-16, providing an additional five-day window (Jan. 20-24) for teams participating in the national championship. The spring portal window in April is no longer included in the schedule, so January is the only open window for 2026 teams to add through the portal.
