While her and Leonard’s focus has been on football, she said after the Super Bowl they will focus on their baby, who is due the second week of March.
“Everything is ready for the baby. The nursery is set up, I got the car seat and the stroller. We have the crib and everything is ready to go,” she shared. “Right now, we are focused on football. Leo is doing his best to support me because of the emotions that come up during pregnancy.”

Thankfully, her family lives in San Francisco, home of this year’s Super Bowl, so she’ll have plenty of support. Between her family and her upcoming child, Haley will have generations of people supporting the Seahawks, and she said she feels “deeply grateful” to be able to share these moments with her children.

“The baby reminded me that I needed to slow down. I’m so glad they chose me and my husband to come into our lives at this time and deepen this experience in ways we couldn’t have imagined before, when it was just the two of us,” she said.
Hailey, 34, said her baby’s regular kicking during games has made her “feel like she’s part of the game.”
“Like when I sit still, they’re like, ‘Why don’t you rock me to sleep?'” she said. “Especially at Lumen Field, because it’s so loud, I think they’re like, ‘What’s going on out there?'” I like to think they know what’s going on and support the Seahawks, too. “

Haley noted that her family — including her Super Bowl champion father, Ronnie Lott — will be with her for next week’s game, just as they will be for the NFC Championship game on Jan. 25.

Last week, the Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl. After the game, Hailey reunited with her husband on the court to celebrate. The couple, who have been together for 11 years, were captured on camera lying on the court, ecstatic as they watched the confetti fall.
“Being able to play was a moment we’ll never forget. It’s etched in our brains now and it’s one of those things we always look back on, especially being pregnant,” Haley said. “It makes more sense to us because I know we’re going to say, ‘Oh, you’ve been there for us, and you’ve got to be there along the way.'” “
“It turned out to be really great for my husband and the team, and at the end of the day, they kept working toward this goal,” she continued. “There’s a connection on this team that I’ve never seen before, and my husband said, ‘It’s like there’s no ego.'” I feel like I see that in the players as well. I think this team definitely feels special. Surprisingly, they were rewarded in this special way. “
If Hailey had to sum up how she’s feeling right now, she said it’s a mix of “euphoria” and “a whirlwind.”

“Everything happened so fast and there were some moments we’ll never forget. We really focused on taking the time to slow down and get back to where we are now,” she said. “It’s a way to deal with feeling like, ‘This is crazy. How can we be present in this moment that you’ve worked so hard for? How can we not take it for granted? How can we enjoy every moment that we have?’ “
While she typically sees her husband before every game, she noted that her pregame preparations will be different next weekend after learning she won’t be able to see him on the court before kickoff.
“We usually pray for him before the game. I think we might get a call. When he’s traveling and I’m not, we’ll get a call in the morning and I’ll pray for him and then I’ll send a follow-up text with a prayer as well. I’ll be praying for him throughout the game,” she shared.

One thing that helps her before the nerve-wracking weekend is her meditation and breathing exercises.

“We try to do what we need to do as much as possible, but right now, how do we enjoy this moment? How do we be grateful for everything we have right now? I’m using a lot of the skills I learned as a teacher,” she said. “I feel like this helped me, and I hope it helps other girls and even my husband, so we can all remember, ‘Wow, this doesn’t happen very often.’ “
Haley emphasized that she “believes in this team” and truly “thinks this team is going to win the Super Bowl.”
“At the same time, I leave everything to God because I really feel like what’s best for us is going to happen,” she continued. “There are lessons for both sides. I’m really excited to see how it goes. I’ve never seen a team like this and it’s very special. They can do whatever they want. We’ll see what happens on Sunday.”
The Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots on February 8 for a chance to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
