Scottie Scheffler still leads OWGR, Matt Fitzpatrick rises in golf ranking

The official World Golf Rankings have been updated for the week of March 24, 2026, with Scottie Scheffler named the world’s best player.

The OWGR system is calculated by awarding qualifying tour and event points to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked each week based on their average total points earned divided by the number of events played. Points retain their full value for 13 weeks, then reduce by equal amounts. The current ranking of the top 50 golfers in the world is as follows.

A week after bogeying his final match and losing a one-shot lead with two holes to play at The Players Championship, Matt Fitzpatrick survived the infamous Snake Pit at Innsbruck Resort’s Copperhead Course to hole a 14-foot birdie putt in his final match for a 68 to win the Valspar Championship on Sunday.

In the process, he jumped nine spots in the rankings, from 15th to 6th.
