Scotland beat Japan at World Curling Championship

Scotland claimed their third win at the Women’s World Curling Championships after defeating Japan in round ten.

Japan tied the game in the ninth inning as Fay Henderson’s ice beat its opponent 4-3.

Previously, the Scottish team fought tenaciously, but ultimately lost to the Swedish team 8-6.

Scotland never took the lead, but scored two goals in the fifth inning to tie the score at 3-3, and then scored two more goals in the tenth inning to tie the score at 6-6 to continue the round robin.

However, Sweden, led by Winter Olympic gold medalist Isabella Wrana, had the better of things in overtime, handing Henderson its fourth defeat of the game.

Scotland defeated Denmark and the United States, while also losing to China, Türkiye and Switzerland.

Switzerland leads the table with six wins from seven games, while Scotland are eighth with 13 games played.

Scotland’s side, which includes Henderson, Lisa Davy, Hayley Duff and Katie Macmillan, next face South Korea, who have recorded five wins from seven games.
