Saudi Arabia: Al Hilal president hits back at Cristiano Ronaldo
Al Hilal club president has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo two days after Karim Benzema signed.
Earlier this week, Cristiano Ronaldo decided to take a break from his Al Nasr side. The Portuguese star refused to train this week, citing a lack of fairness between Saudi clubs. He criticized the move of Karim Benzema to their rivals, claiming it would damage the league’s competitiveness. Al Hilal CEO Esteve Calzada, speaking on Spanish program El Larguero, echoed Ronaldo’s comments.
“Why is he unhappy? This is a problem for him. We have been given a unique opportunity because we are looking for a striker and Benzema is a Ballon d’Or winner and has extraordinary talent. Furthermore, he does not need to adapt to our league – everything is perfect for us and we are already seeing the commercial impact.” he said.
