NEW YORK (AP) — Sarah Fillier scored late in regulation and Maja Nylén Persson scored in the shootout and the New York Sirens beat the Seattle Torrent 2-1 at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.
The announced attendance was 18,006, breaking the attendance record for a U.S. professional women’s hockey game.

Kayle Osborne stopped 20 shots for the Kraken (8-1-4-12).
Alex Carpenter scored a goal and Corinne Schroeder made 37 saves (6-1-3-14) for the Torrents.
With 2:51 left in the second quarter, Carpenter received a pass from Danielle Serdachny and completed a buzzer beater to give the Rapids a 1-0 lead.
With 3 minutes and 35 seconds left in the third quarter, Phillier scored, making the score 1-1. Anne Cherkowski on the left passed the ball to Filler at the back post and fired the ball into the back of the net.
Fillier has eight goals and one assist in his past seven games.
