The NFL set its official salary cap number last week, setting the stage for a major purge ahead of the league. With the official numbers at the low end of the previously announced range, that leaves the 32 teams with a purse of $301.2 million each for the 2026 season.
As the March 11 date approaches, some teams are in a better position than others. Others have to pull some levers to achieve cap compliance. As of March 1, 10 teams are currently over the cap and need to get some work done through restructuring, extensions or cuts.
