Heading into the 2026 NFL offseason, the New Orleans Saints have a variety of positional needs, some of which they’ve already listed through free agency. That being said, they still have quite a few gaps to make up, especially on defense, which will likely be a focus of their draft strategy heading into April.
In the first few weeks of the month, they’ve been traveling around the country attending pro days and various events to get a better look at some of the top prospects. Additionally, they have been holding meetings with a number of different players to evaluate their willingness to draft.

One of the latest names to be added to the list is Eastern Michigan defensive lineman Donovan Green. Easton Butler of 247Sports reports that Green has met with the Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders so far and expressed interest.
From 2024 to 2025, Green’s statistics improved greatly. In the latter 12 games, he completed a total of 55 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He’s 6-foot, 264 pounds and has a strong frame that allows him to generate considerable raw power, and he could be an interesting name to watch as an addition to New Orleans’ defensive line.
