ROG Xbox Ally Pre-Orders to Reportedly Begin in August; European Pricing Tipped

Microsoft showed off the Xbox-branded ROG Ally handheld device at the Xbox Game Show last week. The company says both models – ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X – will launch in select markets during the holiday season later this year. A gaming industry leaker has now revealed pricing, pre-order and release window details for the two Xbox Ally models. Pre-orders for the handheld devices will reportedly begin in August and are expected to be available two months later.

ROG Xbox Ally, Xbox Ally X pricing hints

The information comes from eXtas1s, an industry insider known for leaking retail information on gaming platforms and games ahead of their release. In a video posted on YouTube on Friday, the tipster claimed that the base model – ROG Xbox Ally – will have a suggested retail price of €599 (roughly Rs. 59,600) in Europe.

On the other hand, the high-end ROG Xbox Ally X is reportedly priced at EUR 899 (roughly Rs. 89,500) in the region, which is the same as the Asus ROG Ally X. The source said he was able to confirm the retail prices of the devices from two independent European retailers.

According to sources, pre-orders for the handheld device will begin in August, with a launch reportedly planned for mid-October.

At the Xbox Game Showcase on June 8, Microsoft said the two new handheld consoles will be available in Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States and 21 other markets during the 2025 holiday season. Xbox-branded ROG Ally models will be sold in other markets of the ROG Ally series later, suggesting that ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will be launched in India at some point.

Microsoft didn’t reveal pricing for the upcoming devices but shared full specs for both models. ROG Xbox Ally will be powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The high-end model, on the other hand, will run AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme and come with 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD storage.

Both devices will feature the same 70-inch 1080p LCD display, but the Xbox Ally X will have a larger 80Whr battery, while the Xbox Ally has a 60Whr battery.
