Brian Windhorst won’t be rushing to make last-minute travel arrangements if the Boston Celtics make it to the NBA Finals.

The ESPN reporter said on Thursday’s “NBA Today” show that he has booked hotel reservations in Boston for June in case the Celtics compete for the Larry O’Brien Trophy later this year.

Windhorst acknowledged that his early plans were also a byproduct of Gillette Stadium hosting a men’s World Cup game around the same time. However, he believes Jayson Tatum could lead the Celtics to the Eastern Conference title if he returns from his Achilles injury.

“I also believe that if Jayson Tatum comes back, it gives the Boston Celtics an advantage,” Windhorst said. “I believe it’s going to be hard to get hotels for the World Cup and Jayson Tatum is going to be a game-changer.”

Windhorst also “examined hotel availability” in Cleveland, Denver, Detroit and New York. While he put off booking those rooms, he locked in on two other destinations.

The reporter said he booked a hotel in Oklahoma City “months ago” thinking the Thunder could defend the title. He even claimed to have made reservations at restaurants in the area.

Even though he believes in the Thunder, Windhorst is already ready to stay in San Antonio. The Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, have won 10 consecutive games and currently have a record of 42-16.

“I really think we’re going to go to San Antonio or Oklahoma City in June,” Windhorst said.
