As trade talk heats up around the association, the Golden State Warriors appear to be a team that is constantly being mentioned in different trade rumors. NBA insider Chris Haynes recently reported on Prime that the Warriors are targeting the athletic center in a potential trade.

On Friday, Haynes expanded on his recent report by adding another All-Star caliber name to the Warriors’ list of potential trade targets. The Warriors are considering defending Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis, according to Haynes. Haynes added that the Mavericks are not “crazy” about what the Warriors can offer Davis. According to Haynes, the Warriors will either have to acquire more assets or get a third team involved in the trade to get Davis’ contract package.

Davis played 16 games for the Mavericks this season, averaging 29.9 minutes per game, scoring 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks, and shooting 52.1% from the field.

Davis was a central figure in last year’s legendary trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Davis has played in just 27 games for the Mavericks since being traded from Los Angeles. Davis missed 18 games with the Mavericks last season due to an adductor strain. Davis has missed 14 games this season with a calf strain and may miss more with a groin injury he suffered on Christmas Day against the Warriors. Davis was ruled out during halftime on Christmas Day at Chase Center with a second-quarter injury.

If the Warriors pursue Davis, they’ll have to get creative financially. The 32-year-old big man is making $54 million this season and $58 million next season, with a $62 million player option for 2027-28.

Davis would immediately bolster Golden State’s frontcourt and give the Warriors another star player to join Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. Davis was selected to the NBA All-Star 10 times, to the NBA All-NBA Team 5 times, and to the NBA All-Defensive Team 5 times.

The NBA trade deadline is set for February 5, 2026 at 3 pm ET.
