Reliance Jio’s Happy New Year Offer: How to Use High-Speed Data Beyond 1GB Daily Limit

If you have been using Reliance Jio, then you may have been accustomed to the free welcome offer that gives users up to 4GB of high-speed internet access data per day. Before the public launch, there wasn’t even this restriction, but from January 1, Reliance Jio was supposed to roll it out commercially when people started paying for the service. Instead, the company has launched the Jio Happy New Year offer, which comes into effect on Sunday. As part of this promotional offer, users will be able to make unlimited calls and enjoy 1GB free high-speed data every day until March 31. To browse at high speeds again, you can buy booster packs from Reliance Jio, which should help people get used to the idea of paying for Jio. The company has priced it at Rs. The 6GB pack is priced at Rs 301 and the 1GB pack is priced at Rs 51, in line with what Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced at the launch of the network. Purchasing recharge is very simple. Here’s how to use 4G speeds on Reliance after exceeding the 1GB daily limit:

  1. On your phone, open Maggio app.
  2. Log in or register if not already registered. Your Jio phone number is your username.
  3. Now, you will see the list of Jio apps. tap Open Next to MyJio.
  4. tap usage and click data – Doing this confirms that you have exceeded the 1GB limit. This is because Jio speeds are not always stable and sometimes a slow connection may just be a slow connection.
  5. If you exceed the limit, tap Back icon and return to the home screen.
  6. Click top up
  7. Click booster
  8. Select the plan you want and click on the price on the right.
  9. This will take you to the payment screen where you can pay through JioMoney, credit or debit card or through net banking. Complete the payment normally.

That’s it – you’re done. You can browse and use the internet as usual at regular 4G speeds. Buying the 6GB pack will save you Rs. 4, but considering the data limit resets every day and the 6GB pack is valid for 28 days, it might not be the best value for money option at the moment. Later, once you’ve paid for your regular data plan, it might make more sense to buy a larger data pack, but while the Jio Happy New Year offer is running, it makes more sense to buy data in 1GB chunks – unless, of course, you plan on doing a lot of downloads and need to use more than 1GB at once.
