A warning has been issued after “significant amounts” of water and debris were brought to exposed roads on Tuesday due to strong winds with gusts of up to 65mph (105km/h).
The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a red weather warning for “severe coastal overflow” between high tides between 13:00 and 16:00 GMT.
Forecasters said Castletown Promenade, Coast Road at Rushen and the northern end of Douglas Promenade were most at risk, with Ramsey and Laxey Promenade also likely to be affected.

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain and flooding is also in place for the island’s roads from midnight to 10:00 on Tuesday.
Forecasters said 0.8 inches (20 millimeters) of rain could fall in the three hours between 03:00 and 06:00, leaving standing water that could make driving difficult.
High afternoon winds combined with “oversaturation of the ground” could cause trees to be blown down in some locations, causing additional disruption and delays.
The Isle of Man Steam Parcel Company has warned passengers that all flights on Tuesday may be disrupted due to exceptional circumstances.
