according to New York Jets running back Bryce Hall expected to have strong interest in Denver Broncos, per Luca Evans of The Denver Post If he becomes a free agent.
question? If the Jets are unable to re-sign Hall, they plan to franchise or transition Hall and hold him hostage for at least a year.
Evans noted that Hall has a relationship with Broncos running backs coach Lou Ayeni, and a source with direct knowledge of the situation told Hall that he is “very interested in joining the Broncos.”
If Hall makes it to free agency, though – keep an eye on Denver. The former Iowa State running back has a relationship with Broncos running backs coach Lou Ayeni from their recruiting days at Hall High School, when Ayeni was Iowa State’s running backs coach. A source with direct knowledge of the situation told The Denver Post this week that Hall is very interested in joining the Broncos. This would be a blockbuster move for Denver, as Hall has totaled more than 1,350 yards from scrimmage in each of his last three years in New York.
As someone who had Hall as the No. 1 player on his free-agent wish list, this is bittersweet news. I think Hall will thrive outside of the Jets and will be a real game-changer in the Broncos’ backfield. However, the Jets appear intent on retaining him, reportedly placing the franchise or transition tag on Hall.

If they go the transition tag route, which seems to be expected, the Broncos could offer Hall a deal, but the Jets would have the right of first refusal and could match any deal offered. If they don’t, they can let him sign and leave without any draft compensation. The two teams could agree on a potential trade, but Hall would have to sign the tag before the deal can be completed. It’s unclear if the Jets are open to that, but it’s still a possibility.
The Broncos are expected to be strong in the running back market this offseason, and signing Hall would make a huge splash. The Jets will make that difficult, however, and there’s no guarantee they’ll be willing to trade him. If Hall is out, the Broncos could be interested in Kenneth Walker, Travis Etienne, Tyler Allgaier and others.
